Welcome to DBSA California (DBSA-CA)

The mission of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of California (DBSA-CA) is to help local support groups grow and prosper, encourage the development of new support groups in areas of California where they are needed and assist individuals who are in need of support to find a support group in their area.

We hope that you will find the information on this website helpful for your mental and physical well-being.  Here you will find state-wide support group listings, links to resources and websites, links to books and other suggested reading materials, newsletter PDF files, symptoms of depression and bipolar disorder, information about our annual conference and more to assist you in your recovery process.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of California (DBSA-CA), is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, representing the local self-help groups for depression and bipolar disorder in the State of California.  The president of the DBSA-CA is the founder of the organization, Jo Ann Martin.

 

The DBSA-CA seeks funding from pharmaceutical companies, philanthropic foundations, and private individuals. 

 

The DBSA-CA also holds a yearly conference for members of statewide groups and others interested in depression and bipolar disorder. These conferences include keynote speakers, doctors, scientists, practical workshops, art exhibits and a talent show. 

 

The DBSA-CA fosters group interaction by distributing lists of support group contact information to all support groups in the State of California arranging for the exchange of newsletters published by local groups.

Recommended Psychiatrist and Therapist Directories

Starting in January, 2009, we will begin to process and create directories of mental health professionals referred by consumers of the mental health system, like you.  We will list this information as it becomes available.

 

If you are pleased with your mental health professional, and wish for us to publish this information on our website, please click on the link below to complete and submit the online form.  Your mental health professional must practice in California to be listed here.

 

Make sure the name, address and phone number (required entries) for your mental health provider are correct before you complete the form.  You will also be required to provide for us your first name and email address.   This will enable us to send you an email confirming the information you provide us.  Please list only one entry per form.
